One of Nirvana's hardest, electric-guitar heavy releases, and it really shows in the amount of emotion that comes through in each song. Because of this, Insecticide is less commercially popular than their other albums such as MTV Unplugged in New York and Nevermind, but probably my favorite.

The lyrics alone are worth the price of the CD. 99% of bands should not write their own songs. Bob Dylan was a pioneer in this regard; he was both a true singer and songwriter. Kurt Cobain showed that there still were some artists who can and should do both.

My personal top songs on this album would have to be Stain, Hairspray Queen, and Turnaround. Based on popularity Molly's Lips and Polly would probably be their most famous.

By far, the greatest acoustic album of the entire '90s. Kurt Cobain puts on an absolutely spectacular performance, showing just how talented and versatile he really is.

Normal studio releases from Nirvana tend to be a bit too heavy, hard for most people, so this album appeals to a much wider audience. At the same time, it really does not lose any of the emotion that usually comes with an unplugged version.

One of the top 10 hip-hop albums of all time, in my opinion. Tribe brought quality, positive lyrics on an release that alot of people can relate to. I think the song "Stressed Out" was even performed on Nickelodeon (I don't know how I know this!!); that is quite the feat for a album that even the most hardcore of hip-hop fans praise.

If you like laid back, chill, inspiring hip-hop with great lyrics than Tribe Called Quest is definitely your style. Check out De La Soul or Digable Planets for a similar sound, and also great artists.

Such an incredible album. I'm not a huge R&B fan, but John Legend really distinguishes himself from the rest in terms of style and talent. This album really made him blow up in the mainstream. I've seen him perform tracks from this album on several talk shows/including network TV.

Once Again is, in my opinion, the better of his two main albums. The other being Get Lifted, released in 2004. If you are a fan of John Legend, try to get your hands on a live performance album called "Live at SOBs", for yet another fantastic production. Also look into the artist Rahsaan Patterson for similar style, and voice.

Not as good as his last album "Food and Liquor," but still a very quality release. Lupe's unique style, and lyrics are a nice and welcome change to other conventional hip-hop albums. He doesn't go on and on about "pulling out his gat" or any other such nonsense, just a chill, vibin' sound.

His beats have been sampled by many mainstream television productions, so a few of the songs on here will sounds very familiar. My favorite tracks are "Hi-Definition" with Snoop Dogg, and Hip-Hop Saved My Life.

Formed by former Saosin lead vocalist Anthony Green (even though he hates being continually defined this way), Circa Survive's first album, Juturna, is a great first step for his new band. Filled with hard guitar work, and very dynamic yet melodic vocals, it is a great first album for someone not familiar with the alt rock genre.

They have just recently come out with a second album called On Letting Go, and are currently touring across the country for it. Try and catch them at your local venue!

Illmatic was revolutionary when it came out. This is regarded by many as one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. Nas, still made many great albums since, but this was his finest.

One of the best EPs of all time. Circa Survive's Anthony Greens first "real" album, and his most well-rounded. Smartpunk is the best place to buy it, since they have a far price (unlike Amazon), and good shipping response time.

Great album. A Welsh band with roots of Metallica, modernized by a more punk/hardcore flow.

Be aware that there are 2 versions of this album, this is the 13 song version. There is also a 17 song version out there, so make sure if you want the extra songs get that one.

Best hip-hop of 2000 by far. Great beats, even better lyrics. It even has cameos by some great artists of the time, including Busta Rhymes and Freddie Foxx.

Best album of the year. 90% of albums sounds the same from the first song to the last; not this one. The Heart And the Synapse has great variety across the entire album.
