Thomas the train is great. This set is good, unfortunately expensive, because it has so many interesting parts. Believe me, as a parent, you want to build cool things w/ your kid or you will get bored fast. You'll need a couple of additive track sets, but you'll be set up for many years to come.

You need stainless tools if you work w/ in a marin environment. Expensive, but you won't replace every year.
