Possibly Blur's most interesting album rhythmically, Graham Coxon quit during the recording sessions so they had to rely more on Alex and Dave after that. Possibly my favorite Blur album after Parklife.

Cheeky, effervescent, ebullient debut album from Supergrass, who are still going strong 12 years down the line. A Britpop classic, full of punky pop songs about growing up, they were still in their teens when it was recorded.

Considered by many the defining album of Britpop, containing its defining song, 'Common People'. This is one of those albums I still remember where and when the first time I heard it was, I was so blown away by 'Mis-Shapes', 'Common People', and 'Disco 2000'. Compared to what was playing on American radio at the time, it was a huge blast of fresh air, the witty and arch lyrics, the melodicism, the full instrumentation.

Sixteen songs of great angular, punky, indie rock, averaging maybe 2 minutes per track. They were involved in a lawsuit over the guitar riff in "Connection" with Wire, and it shows that they were one of Elastica's big influences.

One of the defining moments of the Britpop movement of the 90's, this album was a breath of fresh air, and encaspulated a band at its exuberant and creative best. A modern classic.

My favorite movie of all time. So many classic scenes, plus a great soundtrack that captured the spirit of the UK in the mid 90s. Danny Boyle did a fantastic job bringing Irvine Welsh's novel to the screen.

A great account of the rise and decline of Britpop in the 90s, and its ties with UK politics and Tony Blair.
