'The Postman Always Rings Twice' is one of the great books of the 20th century. Wonderful characters, plot twists, fun to read. I can't wait to read the other books in this anthology. As usual the Everyman's Library versions are great, especially for the price. Cloth bound hardcover with a silk page marker, stitched bindings, acid free paper.

An absolute gem of a novel, about two rival practisers of magic in victorian England. Susanna Clarke crafted an incredibly rich and detailed universe and history for her characters, and the prose is wonderfully written. A little like Jane Austen combined with J.R.R. Tolkien.

probably my favorite of vonnegut's novels, which is saying a lot. the tale of ice-9 and bokonism, it has vonnegut at his wittiest best, and contains great insight into society, religion, and science.

My review
Classic novel about southern politics, following the rise and fall of Willie Stark. A great study of society, politics, and corruption in the first half of the 20th century, loosely based on the life of Louisiana governor Huey Long. We see this happen through the eyes of Jack Burden, Willie Stark's aide who narrates the story, and it shows a man sacrifice his ideals to gain power, and how he is ultimately destroyed by it.
