Essential cookbook, even if you never use recipes. Excellent for reference material. I can't always remember excact ingredients for bread pudding or exact temp for medium rare roast beef. This book provides that essential reference point.

Pierre Franey came to America with three items from France: A 10" chef's knife, a vegetable peeler, and a cast iron skillet. You can do almost anything in a cast iron skillet if you treat it right. Over time, it actually will become more non-stick if you avoid washing it too much. The key is to scrub with a steel wool, oil it, and wipe it dry. No soap needed. I have much love for Franey - I learned to cook from his most famous ealry books 60 Minute Gourmet, and More 60 Minute Gourmet.

This is my 3rd iPod and I like it the best. I primarily use it when working out. The clip feature is great, but it actually comes off when I run. That's a problem. I think on next 5K I will tape it to my shirt or something...

This is a great vaccum! I used it in a store, and it seems really powerful, plus it has a detachable hand vac. I alreayd won two cordless vacuumes and I plan to ditch one and get this one!

You cannot beat this juicer for the price. It really works well. For whatever reason my 4 year old told his grandma that he wanted a juicer for his birthday. Guess what - he loves it. It is a great way to take fruit that is starting to be less than appealing, and make it into juice! Great for grapes gone soft, peaches, kiwis, etc... The unit comes apart for easy cleaning and I just dump the parts into the dishwasher.

Salomon X Wing Tornado Skis + Salomon Bindings 2007

These are sweet skis. I was skiing a pair of Beta Carve C:9s, one of the earlier shaped skis. This past season I demo skied on the X-Wings. Had to have them. The ride is so smooth. You can really feel the difference that the wood core makes. I bought them in March and didn't have a lot of time to pound, but they held nicely on steeps and cruisers. They are pretty fat, and they pushed the snow around with ease. I didn't have a chance to get them in much powder, but who does on the East anayway??? I can't wait for ski season to start so I can take these babies out! My only chafe is I see them listed here for under $600. That is a GREAT price for these skis and about $100 less than I paid (even with a $100 coupon). If you are in the market for a new pair of skis , you will love the X-wings!
